Don't apologise for the size of your stack. You have a very tasty assortment of silver there.
As time and tide go by ,you will increase the amount...

The starting time is the most exciting ,I think.
The road lies ahead of you and who knows where it will lead . :)

BTW ..I like that slabbed philly you have there

    Yep, we all start somewhere.

I still remember my first symbolic 30 pieces of silver I bought in 2009. It was a revelation to see and handle silver coins, something I'd never done before.

Would you like to swap a 10oz Bar for a 10oz 2011 Koala in capsule?

    Thanks for the comments guys

If i stuck to my original plan i would only have 4 ounces lol. I want to get to 100 oz as soon as i can... the idea my stack value jumps $100 everytime the spot jumps $1 will be a very interesting feeling lol

I think for now i want to build up bars (even though i would gain in premium for a straight swap). i would like to lower the amount of premium on my stack as much as possible, and i may even trade the coins i have for bars in the future (not yet).

But sure as shit, i will be stocking up on the 2012 lunar dragons when they come out. Personally i think they will be the hottest thing all over the world. I just hope the design lives up to expectations.

    Nice start mate.
Ultimately we are almost all 'amateurs' here.
Just a shame we all suck out on the water with our boats.

It's not the size of your stack that counts, but how you use it!

Looking the goods right there and thanks for sharing your silver love!

By 2012 you will need a lazy 10k to buy a box of 100 of them.

Personally if someone offered to swap their 10oz kook/koala/lunar for my 10oz bar, I would be all over it like a fat kid on a donut. You get that coin premium for free.

Why would you want to lower the amount of premium on your stack, if you are getting that premium for free? Following from this, why would you trade your coins for bars?

    Just curious. Thanks.

I think for some noobs, like myself, who have gotten into silver, are just in it for the silver. Not numistics or premiums. I too would swap all my coins, (and that's not many atm) for bars (numistic value taken into account of course).

I see it that if fiat is so devalued, or PMs become the world base currency, then coin collecting for numistic value, as well as paintings, sculptures and other collectables, may well lose much of their collectable value. Food perhaps will be more important, and shelter.

And perhaps all anyone will really be interested in is the PM content and purity, not how "rare" you may believe it to be.

Playing around with numistics (is that even the word?), is a sideline to PM investing, that would only appeal to those prone to collecting, or profit making on numistic values.

Having said that, I would accept the Captains offer. +1

Not questioning that. But 10oz bar = 10oz coin in terms of silver content. Coin has potential for numismatic/collectible premium. Bar does not.

If numismatic/collectible premium disappears, you still have the 10oz of silver in the coin. And if you swapped it for your bar years earlier, that premium cost you $0.

    Anyway, just my thoughts :/

    Thanks for the replies

I would gain on the premium but lose it anyway with the cost of delivery involved. It would cost me an extra $8 or $10 in delivery.

Besides i don't own any bars and i am looking forward to holding one.

Received the PM 10oz bar yesterday. The first bar i have owned and i have to say i like it just as much as the coins and if not more. Coins are nice the first time you get them but the picture on the coin gets boring after you have looked at it 100 times.
