Advice Needed on Kangaroo Coins

I have never purchased 1oz Kooks, Koalas or Kangaroos. Just now I have the opportunity to buy 1oz Kangaroos at a fair price going on what the dealers are selling for.

In the large pile there are a large variety of different years. I don't intend to buy the lot but your advice would be most welcome as to which years are the hardest to obtain and I might be lucky and snare a bargain or two.

I eagerly await any advice.

By kangaroo, do you mean 1oz Gold kangaroo or Silver kangaroo at sunset?

The 2007 is selling for $230+ on feebay atm.

Silver Roos? Best years to get in order of "priority" are:

2007
2000
2008
2001
2002
2003
2005
2004
2006
2009
Then any from the 1990's although 1993 is probably the least wanted.

But if you just remember 2007, 2000 or 2008 then you'll be in business

My opinion 2006 has the best design. The Kangaroo with the joey's head and the way the map of Australia is incorporated into a sunset type designs is clever and appealing.

 

A fellow SS member just sent me one of these. I love it. Probably one of the nicest coins in my collection now.
