Here is my take on the importance of acquiring important skills in addition to assets. If you have any skills that you are currently building on please feel free to share below! Thanks for watching!
Learn how to use a hammer, chisel and handsaw and if you can, master how to sharpen all the kit in a carpenters tool bag. Put down those power tools and use hand-tools. Learn how to lay a brick and have a crack at making a pot from local clay. Learn about the local trees in your area and which ones are useful as tool handles, firewood, medications and food. Learn how to lay floor and wall tiles and of course how to pave. Learn about basic plumbing. Learn how to do most basic repairs to your car. Learn how to grow food the old ways without using commercial fertilisers. Learn how to build a computer. Learn to weld. Learn how to hunt and how to dress those animals you take for the table. Learn how to make ammo. Learn how to fish. Learn how to preserve food. Learn how to make beverages both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Learn how to make non-potable water, potable. Learn where wild honey bees have their hives. Find out where there are safe areas in your local area and how to get their by foot day or night regardless of the weather. Learn how to navigate by the stars and learn how to read a topographical map. Have an attitude that if someone else can do it so can I. Learn, learn, learn, so that you can rely on yourself so that if in the unlikely event that you hit hard times you can survive on your own.
Great skills to learn!! Also I think you should add time management to the list if want to be able add all those skills to you mental toolkit. Only so many hours in the day!
