Hey fellow stackers I would like to if I may do a little plug for my website. It is community driven by users submitting links of sources on the web of interest (videos, articles etc.) www.goldsilvernews.co.uk Users can then vote up articles to help other users save time by only reading the best top articles. Also if you're short on time, you can save articles to a reading list to read at a later date or for safe keeping ;-) I wanted a website which would be a 1 stop resource of the latest gold, silver news etc to save time surfing the web. If this sounds like it might be of interest to you please check it out. Many thanks. Keep stacking
Hi Salty Lemon, When a user submits a link. They have an option to choose an image from the link being submitted or upload an image appropriate to the content shared. I hope this answers you question.
If you open "Profile" at the top of this page and then open your "Personal" settings you can add a link to your website that will appear under your avatar. FYI
Thank you Marcus for posting this - just took a quick look, and thank you for putting the time & effort in to create this! I love the "no nonsense" sorts of sites like this, where it's pure news, properly linked back to source, and neatly laid out. Kudos, thank you, and bookmarked for daily reading
Thanks for the feedback Midnight Man & Stark! Yes the concept for website was born out of frustration. As a silverbug I'm always surfing the web daily for videos, articles & news in general. We all have a routine of certain websites we like and check, but I thought it would be a good idea to have a 1 stop resource where users actually choose and vote on the content. Plus I love being able to save articles that are really informative. We've all been there when discussing precious metals to non-believers and this works great for when you need information at hand to show people the facts. People always seem to beleive the articles more than the individual. I guess it gives it more credibility in their eyes. It is early days so I hope people will join in and submit links and like articles to encourage others. Thanks for the support and I look forward to seeing the links you submit ;-) Marcus
No need for apologies Salty Lemon! Hope you like the site? I'm not getting that much traffic tbh, its still early days. I'm hoping it will pick up. I guess it will take time to rank in the search engines more importantly Google. I'm not really a website making/SEO guru. I do not have the capital to do ad campaigns etc. So if anyone has any tips or ideas on how I can boost traffic I would really appreciate it. At the moment I'm submitting the majority of links. :-( Hopefully things will pick up.
