Hi, I live in Adelaide, and have recently acquired an Australian $5 polymer note. After research via the internet/reading posts on this forum, I believe (yet could be very wrong?) that it is a 1992-1996 Fraser-Cole prefix not. Its serial number is (AA 08229076). When I first received the note (buying a bus ticket of all things), I thought it looked quite odd, even naively thought it may potentially be counterfeit! I decided to research up on it, and stumbled across this forum, amongst a other few pieces of information. I'm not collector of notes, so I am willing to sell it. Just wondering what process I would have to go through? And what it's potential worth/value is? There are noticeable creases on it however. I assume an image of the note would be handy? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Welcome to the Forum ZW, We do have a few numismatists present on the forum and they may be able to help. You could also consult some 'real' numi masters on the forum below http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=65
I believe that AA 08229076 means 2008. Have a look on ebay and you will see a few examples of how those 2 numbers represent the year.
A photo would be needed to confirm condition and serials as you have different versions of the Green etc... Good luck with it.
You've probably already found this website, but just in case: http://www.polymernotes.com/cat-polymer.html Good luck. I have an AB19 prefix note I'm trying to decide what to do with.
