Interesting coin....though no coin or medal beats the dragon design on the 2012 Xi-Shi medal (see attached picture)....

Hello Missing, yes, that is true. Very nice medal. I like the design from the Perth too. :) It's not mega high relief, but I'm okay with that. I like that it has a monetary value too (perceived value).

Soprano, looks like the Perth is out? The nice thing about Talisman, you can currently get them as low as 298.00 vs 333.00 via perth. 500 mintage is nice. The 2 oz of this version, with a mintage of 1000, has been sold for $300+.

They were available to purchase when I posted that link earlier today - seems like they have sold out very quickly!

I wonder how does Talisman offer them cheaper, especially on the day of release and with such a low mintage

Good question, I have no idea. I'm not complaining. Lol.

The 2oz did well but coming out with this 5oz might effect secondary market premiums on the first issue

Agreed. The 2 oz with mintage of 1000 verses 500 with mintage of 500 AND its 5 oz, going for about the same price as what some of those 2 oz recently sold for. This is one I rolled the dice on for 3. Let’s see how it unfolds. I figure I can’t do worse than the Perth Mint who sold for 333.00 and I bought for 310.00.

That’s a pretty good deal. My LCS had them up for $320 and I brought some but they have already jumped to $390 which is pretty crazy fast.

Wow LPM is up to 390.00 too. 310.00 is definitely a steal on those 5 oz’ers with a mintage of 500. Hence why I rolled the dice on 3. In past times, I would have bought 10 or 20. No more. Lol.

Yeah I saw that....they were only cheap for two days at LPM. 390 is too much. Let me know if you find any other cheap places at under $350, would like to add two more coins
