Just looking at my stack and noticed that the lunars I got are labelled dollar wise as below

    10 ounce - 10 dollars
    5 ounce - 8 dollars?
    2 ounce - 2 dollars
    1 ounce - 1 dollar
    1/2 ounce - 50 cents

Why is the 5 ounce worth 8 dollars? I would have thought it worth 5 dollars based on all the other coins values. I will definitely get bang for buck with my 5 ounce coins should silver drop to a point where face value is worth more than the silver value! :)

    Start stacking 5 ounce coins!

When I bought a bunch of them I was told that asians think of 8 as a lucky number and as it is a lunar coin.........., someone may correct me if I am wrong.

You're not wrong. The only 5oz coins the Perth Mint makes are Lunars and $8 makes for a lucky coin.

Don't forget the 5oz Koala proof. Also $8 face value.
