haha.. hey Reno, I'm just looking 'grand scheme'. yeah there are ups and downs in silver, no doubt --- why? Coz one company - FACEBOOK is worth more than the ENTIRE silver market. That's why it doesn't take much to manipulate it. The gradual depletion of the reserves and continual disposal of it will secure us in a decade or sooner. Yeah I'll be buying silver at $100. If silver is at a hundred, think of how badly fiat will be hemhorrhaging! Either the yellow or white metal. Just not fiat when silver gets to $100. It will be a very good indication of what is happening. I sold 25 oz'es to rebalance my portfolio (I am not psychic) - obviously would have helped if I had of held onto it for a week longer..lol. My pockets are filled with silver. Not fiat. So yeah.. I did find half a kilo in them and what do ya know! Pocket change! lol.

I'd prefer you kept some 10 oz PM bars, actually. I'll flick you a k for them :p

Just out of curiosity, how long term here are you, Reno? You not seeing a US fiat collapse in times to come? You bailing all out at $100

    Peace.

That's a good point there by PPSS

If silver is priced above $100 per ounce, are you really going to want your wealth sitting in fiat?

$100+ silver = bad times for fiat buying power.

    Food for thought...

Yes, but unless banks or others start taking silver, Fiat will still be required to pay for things.

Which brings me to ask, Do Large banks anywhere (US, Can, Oz,) take silver at spot?

Never heard of a bank taking silver. At $100/oz though bullion dealers will still be in business.

Damn straight.. even if banks took gold and silver , I'd be skeptical..I don't trust them as far as I can throw them :/ .... I'd know they would be melting it all down and taking it off the market or something. Those no good bastards. I'd much prefer to swap fiat for pms with my dealer or fellow stackers rather than deal with a bank. Can't wait for pm to goods and services trade.. that will be FUN!!! No more fiat would be so great.. **wishful thinking**

Thats what I was thinking, but if silver does reach new highs every month, Would dealers continue taking silver at those high prices considering its volatility? I have to imagine at one point they will say they're not taking anymore. Everytime I got to my dealer he's got buckets of junk silver coins on the floor just waiting to get processed. I guess this is why they say an exit strategy is just as important.

I'm long silver, but it would be good to have more options (only 1 dealer in my area) if i wanted to dump 10 or 20 oz or so.

The only reason the price of silver is high is because people are buying at this price.
The market drives the physical silver price. If no one bought silver would be cheaper.
