One thing I've noticed recently is the normalization and preference by city and state officials to answer the homeless crisis with "tiny home communities". The 21st century term for the new middle class ghettos. Stick everyone in a lawn mower shed on rented lots. Just like a trailer park but tiny? It's been in the papers everyday in Colorado, especially with Denver being overrun with illegals now and tents lining the streets. The last I read, the hospitals were about to collapse, every hotel in Denver was full of illegals and the city Mayor was in DC begging for a bailout after he wanted all this. Just an accident I'm sure.
Tiny house culture is a symptom of over population, which is a result of immigration, which is the consequence of inability to succeed in one’s own country, which led to nothing to do but copulate, which resulted in too many of the buggers!
What’s your view on the border’s basically being a free for all? It seems the U.S is about to implode!
The open borders are causing lots of problems but that's to be expected with Brandons "America Last" policies. Last I heard there have been over 10 million estimated illegal crossings or possibly much more than that. I had already expected this to happen so it's no shock to me. It's been happening everywhere the globalist have their slimy hands. Even tho I live here I'd love to see it collapse altogether, which it will. The independent journalists have been saying that half the illegals are Chinese. It reminds me of the beginning of Red Dawn except they are invited this time. I'm ready for whatever happens. Acquiring weapons here won't be any problem for them.
I heard there wont be any more Olympic teams from any countries south of the border. Everyone who can run jump or swim is already here.
High Court orders Evergrande to wind up in Hong Kong’s first liquidation, as the world’s most indebted property developer reaches a dead end The company, with US$328 billion of liabilities, can still appeal against the order The provisional liquidator of the company will be named at a 2:30pm hearing today “The hearing has lasted for one and a half years, and the company still has not been able to bring forward a concrete restructuring proposal” to restructure its US$328 billion in liabilities, Justice Chan said in her ruling. “I think it is the time for the court to say enough is enough.” Shares in the Evergrande group plunged after the liquidation order. Evergrande Group tumbled 21 per cent to 16.3 cents in Hong Kong, while Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Group slumped 18 per cent to 23 cents, and Evergrande Property Services Group Limited fell 2.5 per cent to 39 cents, before trading was halted in all three stocks. https://www.scmp.com/business/china...roves-creditors-bid-wind-worlds-most-indebted
Yeah, I kind of got sucked in by this. There's something that appeals to me about the idea, but it's part of the agenda.
I like the off grid lifestyle in my skoolie but it's more work and unless you are a complete minimalist, you will need a few sheds or a garage or something for storage and tools. A living/sleeping space is pretty easy but most people need stuff. I have alot of crap so it didn't take long to become an issue.
Interestingly Kurzweil predicts 2029 is when AI completes its transcendental (Turing) manifestation, transforming 'humanity' forever. The 'real' 2012...?
^ I would like to see gold commentators be a little more honest when they say that central banks are buying gold. Rather, select central banks are buying gold for a variety of reasons, but anyway. From the World Gold Council, I think jewellery consumption is also playing a role, higher prices in the face of stable demand lead to higher prices. Over the past 3 or 4 years investment demand has declined, jewellery demand has remained stable and select central bank buying has increased. Supply has largely remained constant.
those graphs are quite interesting, thanks for sharing. Just like the MSM, you have to take these gold and silver bugs with a grain of salt. This video is an interesting one. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police released a report about being prepared for social unrest and skyrocketing anti-government sentiment. Their house prices are about as cooked as they are in AU, but clerks and other minimum wage plebs are earning a measly 12 bucks an hour there.
Interesting looooong weekend read for those intrigued about AI. "Everyone is now talking about AI, but few have the faintest glimmer of what is about to hit them. Nvidia analysts still think 2024 might be close to the peak. Mainstream pundits are stuck on the willful blindness of “it’s just predicting the next word”. They see only hype and business-as-usual; at most they entertain another internet-scale technological change. Before long, the world will wake up. But right now, there are perhaps a few hundred people, most of them in San Francisco and the AI labs, that have situational awareness. Through whatever peculiar forces of fate, I have found myself amongst them. A few years ago, these people were derided as crazy—but they trusted the trendlines, which allowed them to correctly predict the AI advances of the past few years. Whether these people are also right about the next few years remains to be seen. But these are very smart people—the smartest people I have ever met—and they are the ones building this technology. Perhaps they will be an odd footnote in history, or perhaps they will go down in history like Szilard and Oppenheimer and Teller. If they are seeing the future even close to correctly, we are in for a wild ride. Let me tell you what we see." https://situational-awareness.ai/ edit.
So this guy is the source of that article (https://situational-awareness.ai/) https://www.forourposterity.com/ A metrosexual-looking German early 20s looking kid. His bio: "Hi, I'm Leopold Aschenbrenner. I recently founded an investment firm focused on AGI, with anchor investments from Patrick Collison, John Collison, Nat Friedman, and Daniel Gross. Before that, I worked on the Superalignment team at OpenAI. In a past life, I did research on economic growth at Oxford's Global Priorities Institute. I graduated as valedictorian from Columbia at age 19. I originally hail from Germany and now live in the great city of San Francisco, California. My aspiration is to secure the blessings of liberty for our posterity. I'm interested in a pretty eclectic mix of things, from First Amendment law to German history to topology, though I'm pretty focused on AI these days." Hopefully, he isn't Klaus Schwab's grandson.
