you wouldnt mess with Uber, those guys are billions in debt, have never turned a profit so likely one to stay away from.

If that is the case, which I would be very skeptical highly doubtful thats true, but say it is well then Melbourne is f'cked lol

Honestly the virus it self doesn't really worry me. If your going to get it your going to get it.
But its the media and the hysteria they are pushing is more of a concern, they make it sound like it is guaranteed kiss of death. as a result Its now a case of people acting like f'n lunatics which is the real problem

We’ll feel it here soon enough. I think it will be about the same for Singapore and Malaysia as for the major Australian cities, with a few variations.

Just make sure you have the things you need for your sickness or helping your relative or friend (and nobody coughs on you!)

Big Brother want us to be locked in our homes -why to panic?-this is big test to all of us,for humanity as well. We've got few million cases a year SEPSA around the world and They don't declare pandemic. In Poland they are around 20 cases of virus and they shut down everything-from kindergarden,school- even all weddings and funerals are postpone-this is like war zone...

It isn’t even really that yet

    There are some human suppositions.

It comes down to viral mutation, antigenic drift/shift.

Never say no,if you don't know for sure... you could be surprised, but I will not elaborate on it...
Edit: You are not correct-this is not first pandemic in the age of mass transit and internet. quote :
The 2009 flu pandemic was a global outbreak of a new strain of influenza A virus subtype H1N1, first identified in April 2009, termed Pandemic H1N1/09 virus by the World Health Organization (WHO) and colloquially called swine flu. The outbreak was first observed in Mexico, and quickly spread globally...

I don’t remember any public health issue in 2009 (I should qualify this - it wasn’t an issue in Australia - I know it was a major issue elsewhere)

When we talk about the flu and the vaccine, remember the vaccine only covers 30-50% and even then it is best applied when the outbreak happens for the first 4 months.

The flu vaccine attempts to cover you for 4 strains, four vaccines for an adult. It covers 2 strains of influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and 2 strains of influenza B, “Victoria” and “”Yamagata”.

Here’s the rub. At any one time, from what I have read, because of seasonal variation, you are only covered for 2 out of 4 of these strains, corresponding to the 30-50% vaccine effectiveness of the flu vaccine (in adults).

    I.e. fairly crap.

Just use some common sense. Wear a mask when in enclosed places, in an office lift, in the bus, in the subway. If you need to shake hands, make sure you wash your hands with soap after that. Wash your hands before eating and after handling money.

No kissing or hugging of strangers (it's a custom in Italy and Iran I think?). No sharing of food and utensils. Avoid buffets. All food should be cooked and simmering hot, so no sushi. I know it's difficult for someone without OCD. I must admit, I have a little OCD so it's not difficult for me.

Does Singapore have “All you can eat” buffets, like the USA?

Yes, in hotels mostly, but I don't eat buffets nowadays as my appetite has gone down. Probably only once a year during Xmas or birthday. I know salad bars are common even in European countries and that will really spread pathogens as the food is unheated.

By the way, I believe that heat and sun UV will slow down the virus. It’s not that useful in South East Asia as everybody is hiding in aircon buildings to escape the heat and humidity. But even in aircon, the temperature is between 21-25C.

With half of americans obese it can be a problem for us.
It causes major problems with the sickness same as smoking and being elderly.
Might be some really cheap real estate in Texas so keep your wad of cash ready!
Two thirds of that state is obese.

    Good point.

Besides, if it really originates from animals, then animals (like house pets) can also spread it.
They tell us to stay away from touching buttons and grabbing handles or elevators and doors... but not ATM's!

    Just some original thoughts:
    - we wear masks and are told to wash our hands and not touch out face, BUT: don't our clothes also catch viruses? (suppose someone spreads "things around" while you're in a crowded space... like a bus)
    - stay away from animals!
    - stay away from restaurants, cafes, fast food, street food etc.
: the ones who prepare the food can spread it to hundreds of people!
    - don't go to pharmacies, unless you really have to
    - vending machines, office coffee machines: a few days ago the thought just "slapped" me, when we were gathered around and waiting in line to make our coffee...
    - wallet, pockets (used for the wallet) and personal ID cards - just take account of this
    - ATM's: of course, they are like "card hookers"
    - ...stay away from hookers! :D

It would be naive to claim that your room is "safe", because you have 25 C :D

I think it's time for a Maduro diet in the USA! :D

French people are naturally thin, but for the way politics is going there... they should try a double-whopper Maduro!

Why do you think Big Brother would like us in our homes?

Yes, it already feels like a warzone.

    Plus:
    * more people stay online and the internet is slower, crashes often (3-4 people I know complained about crashes, hasn't happened to me... YET!)
    * people use more water, so I think there will be water-related issues
    * trash piles up... needless to explain

Our internet goes down from time to time here in gunnison.
As long as mine stays up I'll keep you guys up on what's going on here.
The gunnison valley is a ghost town now between here and crested Butte and to monarch pass.
Not sure what the hazmat guys are doing around town in those suits but maybe testing people?
The girl in Crested Butte that was confirmed put out a YouTube video and she described it as having the flu basically.
Seeing those guys in the suits and trucks is what maybe caused the grocery store panic?
