Let's hope this mad war ends soon. Negotiations are needed to achieve peace.

    Taiwan could be next?

    Lets start with Taiwan first
The deal was done nearly 50 years ago = belongs to China .
As usual the war machine backed out of the deal .

Where is the Ukraine'n pres ?
Hiding out in Poland  from day 3 .
First round of negotations started yesterday & failed .
Who were the Russian's negotationg with ?
If the so called pres is hiding out in Poland & trying to sign a pact with nato o_O

The deal has been struck already where the " former pres of Ukraine " I'll say it here .
The Yanks want give him sanctuary
But the Poms have taken him in o_O

    I'm from the Ukraine .
The " real Uknraine'ns" are a small minority ,blonde blue eyed.
They are the Natzi loving MF ,trained in the US & Germany = who's funding that .
That is what Uncle Vlad is doing again .
Repeating history by repealing the Natzi's out .
My 95 year old grandmother dug the trenches on the front line .
DON'T give me your opinion on " you think " will happen .
Unless you have skin in the game

Taiwan isn't top in the list of priority. China wants to be world superpower so they are aiming big. Natural resources, oil, gas fields, platinum, paladium and iron ore are priority. :D

Of course, there will still be tensions in the region, possibly even clashes.

From the way things are moving, Russia is going in alone.

Nothing “belongs” to China. Governments steal territory by imposing their will upon groups of individuals. Some of these groups happily or begrudgingly comply, others make it clear that they wish to have no part in it.

The people of Taiwan have made it abundantly clear they have no interest in being a part of China. They have the moral high ground, the CPC are the imperialists and have absolutely no claim to the island.

The CPC can fk itself, and while it’s busy doing that it can piss off back to wherever it came and let the people of China, Hong Kong, Tibet etc exercise self-determination.

The people of the Ukraine should be given the opportunity to do the same.

True. Borders are being imposed by the stronger party. And, if you're a small fish in the ocean, then the big fish will swallow you.

There are many similarities between China-Taiwan, Russia-Ukraine and even the western colonial powers' domination of nations/territories that they subjugated. That's not to say that all these situations are the same (there are clear differences).
Local people always suffer the most in the stupid chess game of the "lords of the world". Locals have no say.

What we are witnessing today is a redistribution of spheres of influence. The colonial powers and Russia are all in decline. Europe is fantasy-land that has no authority/unity/power.

It is China, Turkey and various other powers that will rise from behind and gradually contribute to the complete decline/demise/implosion of the west, while the west is consuming itself (socially-morally-economically).
The EU-Ukraine-Russia triangle will only leave losers in the end. They will all lose.

China and Turkey will only gain strength from behind. Despite all attention being on the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

But no-one can overlook the double standards and the media manipulation, distortions, aspersions, insidious insinuations and spins of the facts.

For some reason it was "OK" to overrun Vietnam, Iraq etc. And in the movies, the US soldiers are always depicted as "positive smiling heroes", people who save the countries from their "own evil doers".
Hiroshima, Nagasaki nuclear genocides, the bombing of Iraq (on fake grounds), the genocide in Vietnam, the over-runing of Grenada and Panama, the bombing of Belgrade, the bombing of Dresden, Leipzig, Budapest in WW II, the French-British attack on Libya (without US approval), the bombing of Cambodia and Laos, the political-economic isolation of Cuba (local suffer more than the regimes, ALWAYS), the Korean war were "fine".

What is shocking is that almost no-one seems to want to end the war (besides local people in Ukraine). Ukraine is peon between the west and Russia. It is being used, exploited like Vietnam and the local population suffers.

Let's all hope that the was stops as soon as possible and a humane agreement is reached. But, unfortunately all sides are bringing guns to the "fistfight", which only escalates.
Let's hope that this doesn't extend to the neighboring countries and does not drag other nations/minorities into the mad war.

    China won’t rise to dominance.

There’s a correlation between economic advancement and political freedom. If it democratises and institutes changes to its legal system around property rights (including personal rights) then it may become an economic superpower.

    Turkey hasn’t got a hope.

Edit to add: and the West will remain powerful.

Let's not forget cultural and moral development. Unfortunately there's always a way to go down culturally, morally.

Some prosperous countries have tremendous political censorship. I don't want to say any examples. Strong economy has nothing to do with moral culture.

Is Bitcoin being fueled by the Ukraine crisis?

Ukraine and Russia are both hit economically. Russians and Russian companies are getting their fortunes, money seized by the EU. Some are running away with their luxury yachts and moving to other countries, I read.

Millions in Bitcoin pouring into Ukraine from donors
    https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-60541942

"Cryptocurrency analysts say at least $13.7m (£10.2m) has so far been donated to the Ukrainian war effort through anonymous Bitcoin donations.

Researchers at Elliptic, a blockchain analysis company, say the Ukrainian government, NGOs and volunteer groups have raised the money by advertising their Bitcoin wallet addresses online.

More than 4,000 donations have been made so far, with one unknown donor gifting Bitcoin worth $3m to an NGO.

    The median donation is $95."

Bitcoin has a future even in times of crisis, if this keeps continuing.

I am sure the Russian "oligarchs" are moving their money out from the EU and US through crypto transfers. They are also feeding the Bitcoin environment. Just like the Eurocrats and American "oligarchs" :D

Who knows, perhaps even Satoshi Nakamoto is an "oligarch".

Morality is based upon the values that a country hold as important. I haven’t got a problem with the value system or moral code of prosperous nations and I certainly don’t think they’re in decline.

Hows this for crazy (and thinking outside of the box)..... (1) Russia to pre-emptivley cut LNG supply to Europe, in effect slapping it's own sanctions on Europe and causing a bit of hurt before Europe can put in place realistic contingencies and (2) LNG tankers already parked in the port of Kaliningrad so that little piece of Russian Territory will have LNG supply of it's own when the supply to the rest of Europe is cut off. Kaliningrad? That little piece of Russia (the Kaliningrad Oblast) which is a strategic location and reportedly with medium range missiles insitu, ever so much closer to Germany, France, Poland, UK itc than were they in Russia? The UK might not be so bellicose if the threat from Russia was closer to them. And no need to deploy Nuclear missiles to Belarus when they are already insitu much closer to Europe proper. https://www.wsj.com/articles/russia...ningrad-outpost-behind-nato-lines-11645928330 & https://www.sandboxx.us/blog/kaliningrad-russias-political-island-and-key-strategic-exclave/. The threats aren't always obvious or trumpeted. 2022 collapse might be much further "committed to" than most appreciate.

I've seen at least 2 astrological predictions that the conflict in Ukraine will only last until end of March. My own assessment is also by end of March and it could be much earlier. The stock market will be dangerous during this period so diversification is the key.
