It's a way, way, way overpriced bullion coin. Wait a couple of years and you'll probably be finding them for spot.

Highly unlikely. Do some basic reasearch of Perth mint silver lunar series one or even series two. See how many you can get at “spot”.

Guessing you missed out when this coin was releeaes at $23 each so feeling a bit bitter.

Does anyone know how many of these error coins were minted.

I did read / hear somewhere about 50,000 "error" coins were produced.
But the Perth Mint is not acknowledging there was an error; thought I think coin grading services are identifying these coins as a type or variety (and not an error).

How can there be 50,000 error coins if the series had a run of 50,000?

Well spotted. I was thinking of the Kook or Lunar 1 oz mintage of 500k. So 10% of 50k is 5,000. And this is second-hand information, which might not be correct.

Perth Mint didnt even acknowledge that there was an error so knowing how many there are could be a little tricky...

Also beautiful coin, in my opinion, one of the best looking series ever made.

I couldnt resist flipping mine though ;)
