I'm curious what an acceptable premium would be on a 1/2 gold panda. I've located two in a local shop and am curious on your thoughts what a fair price should be. Any word on final mintage? What's your thoughts long term on this coin?

    thanks for responding

600 euro or 888 Au$ would be fair imho. But only when OMP.

The others stuff I can't answer.

It's looking like it's at $680 USD. I might pass on it.

It's a fair price though. Cheapest I can rebuy is maybe 10 Dollar less then your offer.

I've heard that they are not very popular among collectors, they go for smaller ones.

i do not like them much because of missing weight, purity and metal inscription

I don't think that the role/position/desirability of the 2015 Panda coins is known for certain at present. Just like every other thing numismatic, its importance is most likely to be decided retrospectively by which time the price may already be streaking up. I haven't been very critical with the panda coins. I just buy them every year!

I think you should compare the premium you are getting for the 2015 coin with those of the 2014 and 2016 mintage; anything in between is probably good enough IMO.

    Best wishes!

Yes best performance is on the 2015 1/10 ounce. If I hadn't some in stock I would not be prepared to pay the premium which they carry at the meantime. :)

you can speculate on 2015 special minting, but ...
time will tell, 2014 for me would be the better choice if you decide to run after
already premium carrying fractionals, not to say 2016 is the best choice of this 3years.
track the market closely, maye a good chance for 2016 ones will pop up again

Why not look for 1/4 oz or 8 g while many follow the recent 1/2 trend?

I think I would prefer the 1/4 oz coins however I can't find them I did go with all intent today to buy the 2015 1/2 panda from the dealer, he had three them but I got sidetracked by a 1986 and 1987 1/2 oz gold panda. Now I have to rethink my position. Those older date ones have smaller mintages but you can find them for not much over spot.

important is that they are OMP and without any faults. Then yes, its wiser to go for the older ones if they are similiar priced.

Lower mintage but common date which is easier to find. 2015 higher mintage does not means the mints fully mints it. So it is not an easy choice

Does majority of the western mints disclose their actual mints and guarantee not mints in later years to the maximum authorise mintage?

As far as I know, the gold/silver/platinum eagles are spot on with regards to final mintages. The perth mint on the other hand, well you have to read the fine print lol.

:) I bought 30 pcs 1g in sheet sold 20 last few days. Left 10 pcs for myself or sell it when price is good.

It get much below USD90 including shipping as compare to ebay price.

I will get in NGC set or buy omp for 5 sizes for grading.

    Personally I still prefer 8 g.
