About a month or more back a well known coin dealer in the USA was offering a 2014 1 oz gold Libertad graded in MS70 condition. I didn't jump on it because I didn't have available funds but I may be getting just enough money over and above my necessary expenses in the next several weeks to buy such a coin. But that dealer is sold out and neither eBay nor any other of the major dealers in the U.S. whose site I've checked has an MS70 2014 gold Libertad. Anyone here seen one of these available in the U.S.? Provide a link please if you have. .
Hmmm, not sure how many 1 oz 2014 gold Libertads were minted. If 1500, then that's low for the "brilliant uncirculated" version (only 3 years since 1981 would have a lower mintage than 1500). I'm actually interested in an MS70 graded version of this coin. .
Wiki shows 2350 1oz bullion version in 2013 and 400 1oz 2013 gold libertad proofs. Except for 2005, that is the lowest proof mintage of the series. Shows how low the sentiment was for gold last year.
This doesn't answer your question, but why in the world would you want this? First, how about a fractional? check out the mintage from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libert...liant_Uncirculated.29_Minting_History..5B5.5D For 2013: 1/20: 650 1/10: 2,150 1/4: 750 1/2: 450 uno: 2,350 If I were collecting these, I would probably buy the 1/2 oz. Second, I was just looking at a blurry picture of a MS70 from a previous year, and it didn't impress me. I recommend seeing the actual coin before buying.
Last year, the 1oz proof was on sale for spot + $100 which was only about $30 more than the BU version.
