Did anyone here manage to get a 1kilo proof dragon? I had a long and hard think about it (about 5 seconds) and couldnt resist :)

I think it is a good invesement considering that there are only 500 produced! But I have to admit it is quite a hefty premium for a current year proof coin...

Cheaper than a 1KG panda and lower mintage too.

(I'm gonna get stabbed by panda fans for this comment :p)

I ordered one but will believe it when it arrives as it was ordered a few days after the release date. Looks like they took the money for it so hopefully I will get it.
The only reason I ordered it is because of its low mintage and it was showing up as sold out on the site but apparently they still had some when I phoned up - maybe came back into the system after some dud orders. I just hope it is the proof one and not the bullion one that arrives!

According to P/Mint site the 1kg is Specimen quality, not proof. Mintage is 5,000 for the gemstone issue.

Still very good regardless. Only 125 left on the P/Mint site @ 1303 hrs.

Appologies mate. The 1kg proof with 500 mintage is correct. Sorry if your heart skipped a beat. I'm sure you knew i was 100% wrong straight away.

Previous post is correct for new Gemstone Edition though.
