The obvious word missing from this post (and boo to ZH for implying it) is PROOF. Makes $59.95 actually sound like a bargain.

Absolutely. Great price for the proofs. Would love the second part of the article to come true, and then be taken on board by Australia... fat chance!

doesn't make sense though. 34.8 x 1.75 is 60.90 so that price is 75% over spot.

I'll stick to regular non proof ASE's found a place called Border Gold that will deliver and has ASEs for around 38 bucks! Proofs are nice but you'll make more profit on straight ozs.

I doubt I could be bothered buying a proof ASE for 60 bucks, when I can buy a uncirculated one for 40 bucks.

Most of us here are more concerned with the SHTF situation, and I would not be worrying about searching the rubble for a bloke that knew or cared about the difference. I doubt that one will out-perform the other when the disaster hits.

I will stick to ordinary ASEs, and Perth Mint 10oz bars.

    JMNHO.

I don't invest in proof SAE's but I have a few just because they are nice coins to have. I have investment stuff but I'm a collector too.

True dat I can appreciate that. When I have a bigger stack there are a few higher premiums items I'd like to get.
