Last week (14 Dec) my wife got in her change 2010 mob one dollar. How common are they? I live in South Australia On E-Bay they are selling at a high price, up to $199 for a bag of 20... thanks
Taken from Royal Australian mint annual report for standard $1 production 2009 -2010 = 3.900 million 2010-2011 = 7.250 million i have not collected any 2010 $1 but the 2010 $2 coin is very scares and 5c of the same year is the hardest to find of all production years apart from 1972.
How about the 2007 Mob of Roos. Max = 30,000 Only issued in PNC's & mint sets. How do you spell sleeper? Commets?
thanks for that.............. Maybe I was thinking of the PNC total issue? Still pretty low...........
HI Philski, Nice place Sheffield, Tasmania..i was over there in 2006 & 07, my brother lived in Devonport . Anyhow all ok on your comment, i have not come across 2010 $2 but have several 5c of that year, keep an eye out for those 2010 $1 mor's
Awesome info guys, thanks. Its really a unique time we collect in i think. When could anyone in say the 1950's, know the Mint production levels at a glance and buy them without moving off their seat and have the coins delivered in a week or so. and then be able to share the knowledge Australia wide in seconds. Its too cool. i know decimal isnt everyones cup of tea, but for the stackers and traders, i sold $100 for $1 in mixed Australian (80's) decimal coins last week 5-20-50c. a standard COA dexy 50c went for $33 so double silver price per oz. sorry just a quick edit. the royal Australian mint is not producing any more commemorative coin rolls till further notice. taken from ram: * Rolled coin releases will be suspended in 2012 for operational reasons.
Cross referencing those listed the numbers do not make sense. I still think the PNC number is more accurate and reflects a more accurate figure. The number listed as MOR or Bounding Roo is only listed as re-PNC so that mean no general circulation. There was a mintage for Baby coins listed as well but extremely low. Even though they are outside of issued currency, anyone trying to collect a series of MOR's will need this coin. So I would think some good growth is possible. How much, that is the Q ?
Mintage for the 2007 MOR is 103,741 is displayed in RAM Annual Reports for both 06-07 and 07-08 financial periods. 2007 PNC "Bounding Kangaroos" 37,100 2007 Mint Set sold 06-07 59,115 2007 Mint Set sold 07-08 7,526 2007 Baby Proof Sets sold 06-07 11,002 2007 Baby Proof Sets sold 07-08 1,415 2007 Berlin Money Fair Mint Set 1,002 2007 Specimen Wedding Set 2,629 Total Uncirculated 107,372 Total Proof 12,417 No circulated 2007 $1 MOR's were issued. All were either Uncirculated or Proof. The 2007 coin in the standard Proof and Baby mint sets was the Norman Lindsay $1 coin. The 2007 Baby Proof set had the 2007 $1 MOR. As added by philski, the 2007 Berlin Money Fair Mint Sets (1,002 produced) and the 2007 Specimen Wedding Sets (2,629 issued) were not included. The total mintage for the 2007 Baby Proof sets was 12,417 of which 11,002 were produced in the 06-07 financial period and 1,415 were produced in the 07-08 financial period. The 2007 Mint sets were issued in both periods (06-07/07-08) and the PNC was only issued in the 2007-2008 financial year hence the one listing for the PNC issue.
