2007 Koalas are going for between $50 and $70 a pop at the moment on feebay and dealer sites. Are you serious ???? This ugly duckling you couldnt give away a couple of years back and now its really got going. How very odd, 300,000 or so produced too. MAYBE the 1990 Kook can attract a bit of a premium, its 20 years old and was the first in the series but the Koala, just 3 years old?? I smell a bubble, a koala bubble :)

It is hard to get 2007 koalas. I think the mintage was 84 thousand, and 137 thousand on the 2008. Only the Peth Mint website got them the other way around accidentally.

The 98 libertad with 67 thousand mintage is selling over $200, but they are more popular for sure.

All 1 oz coins seem to be heading into the $50-$70 arena. I think the public awareness is starting to come up & the ease of availability of 1oz coins makes them a simple keepsake or good long-term investment.

I was selling them in 2007, nobody wanted them, everybody said they were ugly. Ok. Now they cost 55 and everybody wants them, because they are expensive. :D

Giffen goods. So bizarre to see the market operate in that way.

I don't think they are ugly, just different. Many people have trouble with accepting something new.

I like this year too. But I hope you'll all find them ugly, if they will have low mintage I'll sell mine for a good price when the mintage numbers come out. I have 200 of them stashed away. :D
