I have a 2002 gilded Kookaburra but can find no information on this issue and have no COA. Can anybody furnish details about the authenticity, scarcity or value of this coin, please?

Google 2002 gilded Kooks comes up empty for me. Sure it's not just showing tone? The linked page suggests the gilded of a year is valued roughly like a proof?

    No such thing.

Is the kooka itself gilded or is there a privy mark on the coin that is gilded ?
There were 2oz palindrome coins issued that year.

    got a picture ?

I'm pretty sure that the gold gilding was not done by the mint. 2005 was the first year the perth mint gilded its kook coins.

Does anyone know any more info on the gilded and or colored versions of the kooks? They are not listed on the Perth Mint's mintage page. I am interested if any additional info on where the gilded/colored kooks are being made, and if there is a known mintage on them. I've picked up a few from a German distributor, and I will inquire with them as well. Cheers.

Yes they are, in the numismatic mintage pages.
Look in 2004 and you'll see a heading for kookaburra silver gilded

Mahalo Trew, years 2004 to 2008 are listed. does this mean that these are the only years that was officially minted by Perth? I've purchased 2002, 2007, 2008 and 2009 so far. If there are some others gilding the kooks, would anyone know how to tell the difference from Perth's vs others?

My response from one of my sources replied with "According to my information, the gilded and colored coins are made of different wholesalers for the exclusive coin collections." ... which does not tell me much.

As posted by finicky above - well 2 years ago - as far as I know the only gilded kooks were from 2004 to 2008
Those are the only ones I've got and the only years I've seen
All those I've seen from those years came with case and cert

I would assume any other gilded years have been done by someone else and are not official
