"This new $50 legal tender Silver coin is the first one, which holds a historical Silver coin in resin. The coin used is struck with a heavy hammer by Indians for the Spanish around 1700 in the New World, either in Potosi, Bolivia or in Lima, Peru and Mexico as well.

Such coins, named Reales, have been widely used for trading with the value of the Silver weight and fineness of 917/1000 guaranteed by the assayers hallmark. In Europe called Spanish Silver" these coins got melted and used to mint Silver circulation coins .

The Reales were resting on the ground of the Ocean since 1743 as part of the cargo. Sunken in heavy stormy weather on board of the East Indiaman Princess Louisa" on her way to India. Supposedly to be melted and struck as British coins for the salary of the stationary troops. A memorable, unique piece with a great history, coming from an age of real challenge and adventure when travelling the Ocean."
