    Hi there.

Does anyone know anything about these sets?

Can't find much info on Google except that there was only 750 made. A 2oz 2000 Kooka plus a 2oz Perth Mint medallion. All the medallions I've seen pics of seem to have a strange puplish patina on the reverse side. Almost like a tarnish, some sellers say it was there originally. Any truth to this?

On the Bay there's one set "buy it now" for $279. I got one last week for $170. I thought it would be cool as it's 4oz pure silver, plus maybe a bit of numi value. I mean, it should have numi value, shouldn't it? Limited mintage and all.

Anyone else here have one of these sets?

2000 was the final year that these sets were issued by Perth Mint in a four year series. For $170 I think it was a good buy. For $279 I would not buy.

A fair price for this I reckon would be about spot plus maybe 20-40%. Yes it is a limited mintage, but I can't see it appreciating significantly ... unless a collector just has to have it ... or silver prices go to the moon.

I had a set, but as I recall the gold layering was a bit flaky.

I think it went in a SPOT+X% auction.
