1997 Kookaburra defect

    On the obverse side of this 1997 Kookaburra, what could that possibly be in the upper right hand corner ?

    I looked in the NGC directory, and the pictures there also show the same defect in the same spot when it was graded.

    Just curious what type of defect that could possibly be on a silver bullion coin, and how it got an MS69 with such a visually obvious issue ?

    Toning? Normally doesn't impact the grade if it's natural toning.

    Just unlucky ??

    My 1997 Kook is perfect and doesn't show that defect.
