Hi every one new stacker here. I like the look of the 1966 50c coin but the only places I have found are selling them at $17. Worth it?
    thanks guys.

Hey there Ncbullion, personally I wouldn't spend more than $11 per coin & this price isn't hard to find. Check eBay listings or the sponsor banners at the top of the forum. The traders are really good here.

at $17... no. well not yet.

Not sure where you are looking but i think even online auction shites are cheaper than that.
For the best deal, check out the sale threads here.

To steal GPs thunder, one of the site sponsors (ad at the top right usually has them for a great price too):
    check

Otherwise, if you want to pay 17 a pop, ill sell you as many as you want. Good luck

where are you in Australia? maybe someone can point you in the right direction in your area. Also, no, i would only be paying a little above spot for these.
I went to Pt Adelaide markets once and some ladys were selling them for $22ea (i was getting them for $8 at the time), i should have asked them if they buy and what for.

There's heaps of 66 50c for sale throughout here. I bought my first batch here last week, and there's been others since. Under 12.

I'm a bit off 66's at the moment. Having bought quite a few in the last couple of months for reasonable prices I find it hard to part with more than 10.50 ea and then postage on top. Wish I could pop down to those Camberwell Markets. Agree with comments about some of the trades on this forum.

A couple of months ago I posted here that I hung a sign in our shop advertising I'd buy 66's. Well .... I can report back that after 2 months, 965 questions and 176 stories about grandad and tins full of the stuff and jee I'll come back and sell em to you, a lady finally brought her stash in to sell to me today :D 1 coin. Gave her spot price which at the time was $9.50.

I'm gonna change my sign, "Will listen to stories about 1966 50c coins for a $1fee."

    I'll make a killing.

I have considered doing the same but have resisted so far. Hanging up a sign that is, though I could talk for hours about silver too :)

I actually scored a 66 round as change a few weeks back, they thought it was a 20c piece. To be honest I didn't realise until I went to pay for something, nearly handed it over myself until I realised it was a little too big for a 20.
