    Hey there everyone,
Long time forum Stalker first time posting.

Today I purchased 10x 1964 JFK HALF dollars for just under AU $150. Does anyone have an opinion on whether I got a good deal?
Or even if investing in 1964 half dollars is worthwhile.

    Thanks.

Thanks Renovator~ I didn't know that you could use the calculator for US coins. You learn something every day,

Spot value is $118.46 - it's more than I would have paid, but they're nice coins. There's slightly more silver in one than a 1966 50c, but being US rather than Australian coins, they attract a lower premium here.

oh true! I've never looked, but if I had to guess I would have thought their scarcity here would have given them a small premium

Nope. People buy what they recognise. A member here picked up a 1966 50c coin for $2USD in the states in Jan.

U.S Ebay seller? I bought a 1921 Peace Silver Dollar from a local coin shop recently. I paid $35. Not good value from a silver perspective but it sure looks nice!

So if I came down there, could I feasibly buy up some ex patriated US coinage and brink it back home for a low premium? Maybe I can look around here for some Aussie silver and bring it over and swap?

I collect all the Silver Kennedy's. From my experience the premiums are approx. the same in the US compared to AUS. $15 for a 64 in good condition is a fare price IMHO.

I paid $15 per kennedy when silver was still $46.

The later proof versions like this 2010 are really nice. I wonder why the US Mint choses 90% purity over Sterling? There must be a story in that.

today you should be paying just $13 id say .. was $15 each inclu postage? If they are gem unc its about right..

good to get some silver kennedys, but i rate the walking eagle and barber halves far more.

The US based there Dollar on the spanish 8 reales (5 peseta) so also used there silver purity and weights . measured in grains BTW
