Just for those who fondled my silver octoslug last weekend in Bris... below is the latest auction I found on an original 1915 2.5oz gold version (mine's 999 Ag 5oz) http://www.greatcollections.com/Coi...-Pacific-Expostion-50-Octagonal-NGC-MS-64-CAC And here's mine again...
You do the math x http://www.icollector.com/1915-S-Panama-Pacific-Gold-50-Octagonal_i10542872 ($23k BUYER'S PREMIUM!?!?! I nearly fell over lol!) And a ms69 with original box in gold sold in Palm Beach last year for US126k - dunno why so much except for the grading - upped the price, obviously... Mine must be from a limited run of post-1960 proof ag versions, no other records of a 5oz silver version anywhere on the Net - I'd happily pay anyone to know lol! And mine's not for sale - came from a trade in on Ag bars - but I gave considerably more than spot for it, as I recognized the quality instantly, as anyone in their right mind would. And it isn't a presumptious pompous Pamp 10oz Ag thinking its a frikkin kilo, but y'know what I mean - one of those very rare 'must have' things that y'just fall in love with - Y'now... like The Wife used to be before she became unreasonably unaffordable - or just plain unreasonable... x
Braille mate... I'm a point & shoot kinda guy... so is the missus, which is why I can't stand still for very long at any one time... M x
What is the meaning of the symbols on these coins? Minerva (Athena) - Roman Virgin Goddess of poetry, medicine, wisdom , commerce, weaving, crafts, magic, and the inventor of music- Often depicted with her sacred creature, an Owl. It is interesting that the Bohemian Club of San Francisco use the owl symbol and also the strange words "Weaving Spiders Come Not Here". ??? Check out the link and scroll down to see a bit more about the CORPORATE use of symbols on these coins. http://propheticalert.wordpress.com/2011/03/25/a-satanic-alliance-bohemian-club-bohemian-grove-2/ Also E Pluibus Unum - Out of many, One http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_pluribus_unum
