I will try to help answer in 3 ways.. :)

1.) Are you certain it's legit? Not saying it is or it's not, as I'm no expert & don't have it in front of me. Not to mention that I don't do raw for older stuff like this (only slabbed).

2.) Keep in mind that this is just a very general guide, priced in USD.. http://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/great-britain-crown-km-5191-1703-cuid-86654-duid-236327

3.) Your question might be better answered here.. http://forums.silverstackers.com/forum-11-numismatics.html

No..sorry that is why I edited my post. Too close to call one way or the other. I hope you can use the pics and check each detail.

The circulating replicas are what put me off most.

I see I have been sitting here comparing pics with similar worn ones and can not see one pic that makes me think it's not real but I mean if I go there and it measures correct weight correct feels correct magnet slides ok and is sitting on the table at 300 gbp would you get it or would you walk thanks

Looks real to me but 300 is a huge price for a crown.. Unless you really want it I'd pass.. I'd say youd get it for a similar price from a coin shop with no risk

1703 VIGO is VG - $300 would be a coin shop price, id want to see HQ pictures before making a more sophisticated appraisal it may grade higher or possibly not real.. yes the BV is high.. BV is always high and is scarcely achieved except when there is extreme demand over supply and usually for unc-gem unc specimens
