If both a 10oz bar and coin are going for the same/similar price which would be the better buy or is there no real difference? Silver quantity is the same, obviously, but does one generally attract a higher premium over the other or easier to offload than the other?
If both are around the same price, I'd get the coin as the numismatic value could come in to play in future value of the item ..... might not though in which case it's a lump of silver.
Minted coin over a poured bar for sure, a minted bar such as a PAMP would probably be better than a generic minted round, maybe equal with a legal tender coin If the coin were a Lunar dragon then maybe not... For a few other people's idea of which silver has the higher premiums check out http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-14024-in-the-category-1-ounce-silver-the-winner-is.html There are quite a few different opinions! EDIT: as you can see already!
Yes, just about as many different opinions as posts. Appears to be more about personal preference than anything else.
10oz PAMP bar is the best option, huge premiums and very easy to sell. I like 10oz stackers as well. Coins are meant to be 1oz in my opinion, if I want something larger I go for bars simply because they fit snug in my hiding spot.
I'd probably go the coin but it would depend on how mt stack was looking. Good to see another Hunter resident in action - that makes four members that i know of.
I use to be all about the bars, but lately the coins man. wow some of the lunar ones are just awesome!! dont' get me started on the pandas!
