i've seen gold bars (1kg) selling for $45 000 + s\o why would a silver bar suddenly be unaffordable??
yea i'm in the same position. i already bought a 100oz Perth Mint bar with my first silver purchase, but i'm not sure what to buy next?? i see a lot of people really like the 1kg PAMP bar... is it worth the premium over a Perth Mint 1kg? what is the easiest size bar to sell? is it harder to sell the 100oz bars? i really wanna squeeze every oz out of my $$... but i see the logic behind selling smaller amounts progressively, than dumping it all at once and being left with nothing...
if i was in the position to buy 100oz in one go, i'd go 10oz stackers, they just seem perfect for many situations. I think if shtf then you wouldn't be selling silver for money, it be for equal value in goods and services, if 1kg tomato's cost 1/2oz silver, i doubt the trader would have 99.5oz of silver to give you back in return, you certainly wouldn't want change in bank notes if they don't mean anything, either way i think 10oz is the primo size for a bar. since you've got a 100oz now then just consider that one as your solid base, the last resort bar, and from now on go 10oz stackers in larger lots.
in larger lots because the premium you save can be positive later when you sell in singles. perth minth or pamp? well if your squeezing then australian oranges have the cheapest juice ratio. which pamp? there's a regular pamp with premium, a premium pamp with an extra premium and off course, the pamp with a "real dragon picture" on it and even higher premium, what do they all have in common? they are all oranges
does it matter who makes the 1oz bars? does this affect liquidity? i like the scottsdale 1oz bars... just sayin...
but don't you find 1oz bars a little boring? I can't see much difference to standard issue coins, maybe $1-$3, not much to pay for something fun to look at too. dunno, i'm not convinced with bars under 10oz same as i'm not convinced with coins above 1oz.
Scottsdale 1oz bars have been blighted with counterfeits from China - learn how to tell them apart if you're buying them from non-dealer channels. The back is wrong on the counterfeits, but once you know the difference, it's easy to spot. Plus the fakes have the wrong weight. Not a bar I would buy sight unseen off eBay however.
