As always I want to learn. Lately I've seen +1 on a few threads. I'm guessing this has at least two meanings within this forum. 1. as a way of saying "I second that remark", a sign of concurring with the point of view of another member. 2. as a way of saying you'll increase the bid on an item by $1 above the previous bid. Is this right?
yeah I believe it's a quick $1 bid. used for irrelevant bids that they know they won't win. they rarely show up at the business end of the auction, it's mostly to big note or bump up posts in favour of others. I call it the jealousy affect.
I've never seen it used in an auction and would question the validity if a lazy +1 resulted in a winning bid. I see it more of a 'concur' statement.
The Har Ring Ton is one example but there are others. Anyone who's looked at a Harrington bar knows what Har Ring Ton means. If I was a seller I wouldn't be sure whether to take +1 as a dollar increment or a vote of confidence lol. Hope +1 never turns out to be the last post !!!
This /\ might help others see why I'm confused. Actually ... I think think they already know I'm confused
