Could be a one-off from somebody caught up in auction fever, hopefully the seller is a SS member, nice profit margin if they are. Dellers
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1-KILO-999-P...20707388516?pt=AU_Bullion&hash=item1c1ab89464 $1525 for 1 kg pamp... & over an hour to go edit: sold for $1555 + $27.95 postage. spot @ $1244 = 27.25% premium
These are peoples preferences driving the prices. But if silver goes where we all expect it to go, you will be seeing pamps at 150 next year and we would all be wishing we bought in at 81.
agreed. try to value silver based on gut instinct.. a 1kg pamp "looks" like it's worth $10,000 at least, or more, especially when compared to how much real estate that buys you. should a median $400,000 house be worth 10,000oz silver?? viewing objectively i think that the median house is worth maybe maybe ~1000oz or less (1kg pamp at $10,000 is $311/oz and would price that house at 1286oz not even taking into account any premium). these buyers at $40 see value. next stop $50, then maybe ~$30, then $100... shadow stats inflation adjusted 1980's high is almost $500/oz... official CPI figures have it closer to ~$130/oz. but imho there will be some hard hard dips to shake out weak hands. the swings will be violent and gut wrenching!
That guy that sold that heap of 1kg pamps on ebay a few months ago for $880 each must be feeling peeved now. (I only managed to grab 4 of them.. wish I had got the lot!)
WTF? When Silver gets to $80 I would have tripled my investment, theyd be beaking even or they could buy at $40oz like a sane person would and double their money...oh well. No skin off my noes.
