Here is my contribution to the thread. Paid a premuim for this little bugger, have no plans of relinquishing my hold on it anytime soon. From the M & B Mining Company Las Vegas, Nevada US.
    Enjoy.

Mint error 1 kg extruded Perth Mint bar, it's not the first I've seen but they are pretty rare. Must has slipped past the QC officer ;)

Would you call that a double strike?

And how much would the premium be on that oddity?

Very interesting, I wonder, would the extrusion/stamping process have been automated enough back then so that no-one noticed until after it left the mint?

These must have been inspected whether made by human or machine operator.
Whatever the process there is some sort of QA and if these bars fit the weight/purity requirements I believe that QA is passed!

Kilos and above have always been my favourite in the Silver world, but in the last few months I've branched out and bought 10ozers and some semis. Well I decided it was time to go back to my roots so to speak and I picked up a few kilos. There's a bit of everything, ABC, Golden West, Harrington, Deak and Johnson Matthey.

I've really gotten into the nice old Perth mint kilos and 100oz. For the most part the few I've had have come to me by accident but I'm really worried about taking the step and actively seeking them out to collect because I won't want to sell them when the time comes.
At the moment my plan is to jump on them when I see them being sold as regular bullion and if it ever comes time to sell to leave them until last.

sigh sigh sigh, I didn't get into this to collect things and yet I find myself holding lunars of all sorts and looking hard at collectible vintage bars There's a PM 50oz bar calling to me but then I know it's over for me, I'll be a collector not a stacker or investor.

    Buy both

Have a collection and a stack you can flip / sell when the right opportunity presents itself

I for one have spent a little too much on the pretty must have coins and will be adding some larger bars to my stack to try to bring down my average price
