A lot. Little bit more information in, http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-34162-old-1-oz-silver-perth-mint-cast-ingot-value.html
These Ingots shouldn't have any serials at all. It is after market job. Have done some research on them, Also the 5 oz Perth Mint. I know about them and the history behind them. Please see my 5 oz silver thread. All my 1 oz Silver Ingots doesn't have serials.
Could you back that up with a source or reference? Not saying I don't belive you, I just like to do my own reading as well.
Apparently, no one at The Mint knows. All the archives have been sent away from the mint. This ingots are made early circa 1980's and so are the rest of the flat bars. You need to go to the archives for further reading with permission of course. see "G W Williams" if he is still around. He was the director at that time. I did not said yours ingot is fake and don't get me wrong. The size of the numeral digits should correspond with the rest of others bars at that time. I have heap of the older bars with serials. All my Ingots doesn't have serials. Also I have been questions the mint senior staffs and they said they haven't seen one with serials. I also do knows who have the most. You will be surprise what they make this ingot into; A Ring.
http://i.imgur.com/hV8AKtZ.jpg From what I have been told these where given out to people working at or closely with the mint. Serial numbers on the ones given as a corporate gifts.
