When it comes to a monster box, what would be the best way to have delivery done, ie post, freight, etc?
Apmex, as do the other dealers, play games with the amount of listed inventory. When the listed inventory gets low enough, the quantity will suddenly increase. Wash, rinse and repeat. One clue to when a dealer is truly running out of a coin is when the premium spikes significantly, especially compared to other dealer prices for the same coin. Hopefully the Croc coin does well, but I don't expect a sell out announcement from the PM, anytime soon. The lower premium should help sales, but remember that the PM had to back down the Kook quantity from 1mm to 500k. I believe that offering a low premium coin choice is a wise move on the part of the PM, but the low premium CWL coins took far more than 6 months to truly sell out.
Provident is selling these now US $2.59 over spot any quantity: http://www.providentmetals.com/2014-1-oz-silver-australian-saltwater-crocodile.html
Thanks, Shawn! I exchanged emails with The Provident Brain Trust a couple days ago and they told me they weren't going to be carrying this one! Oh, well -- like the motto on the old "X-Files" TV show said -- "Trust No One."
Here are all the dealers that US people can buy them from. Short list to compare prices ($USD) over spot: first number are singles, second number is price break for 25 (tube). Apmex - $2.69 (any quantity) Provident - $2.59 (any quantity) JMBullion - $4.00 / $3.50 (free shipping) SDBullion - $3.49 (any quantity) Kitco - $2.75 (any quantity)
There is no master plan there, it is purely speculation at the moment. The mint are testing the market. All the allocation have been sold to the dealers around the world. ( In another words Sold Out ) They not even know if there will be a second in the series; otherwise they will announce that immediately before the release of the series. Just like the Kooks and the Koalas, once they find the market will buy them, they prolong the series. The release sizes is not consistent as some of the Kooks series Ag. 2 oz have been stop. The Lunar series Ag. 0.5 kg also stop production. For those that try to collect them in a set, will find it difficult to complete their set. Maybe have to be patient and wait. The popular sizes remain are the 1/2, 1, 2, 5 ,10 and the kg for the silver. The next series coin release is the Kangaroo; not sure if it in gold or silver.
I know about the Crocs even before the release. I know the next one will be the Kangaroo. I don't make things up. Purely rumour but It could be true. Lets see.
