I wouldn't bother with refining it unless it is just dust.

You can probably sell small nuggets here, more for ones around quartz.

    Why asking for the place?
Let him pull some more, then give your shipping address.

Check to see if the area is already pegged, so you are not jumping someones claim. That doesn't go down too well even in the 20th century.

So if the areas not under a current lease then, get yourself a miners right, start pegging you're leases and get them registered. Then at least you are working within the states mining laws, especially when it comes to sluicing, dredging and prospecting waterways. Touchy environmental issues can lead to huge fines depending where you are.

Generally you can peg leases within EL's based on some simple requirements. Check your states laws and requirements. Then go for it, you might be able to follow the alluvial to the source and where it's been shedding from reef for last million years.

    Go for it...

Man I wish I had some spots around here to prospect. One of my favorite shows is Gold Rush and Bearing Sea Gold. I'd love to turn in my day job and go on a real adventure if it wasn't for my wife and kids.

The Pilbara was good for me way back in the late 80's, harsh unforgiving country, but can give up some nice nuggets amongst other things.
