New to Silver. How to test for silver with 100% confidence?

    I don't know about a cheaper option, but Fisch do make their gauges for silver coins as well; their 'wallet #6' option contains four plastic gauges [what they call 'detectors'] and covers 1 Oz Silver Eagles, Silver Maple Leafs and Silver Vienna Philharmonics. They are kind of expensive though. But if they give people peace of mind...

    hi sinistersix, which city are you in?

    well my idea (may be the cheapest way) is go to your local bullion dealer place to check if they have a XRF analyzer, ask them nicely to see if they can do test for your metals.

    I have used the magnet test and for me it has worked everytime. It has not failed to spot any of the known fake coins I have tested.
