Thanks for the response. Also -- I think Ironwood really hit the nail on the head with the poured bar idea. That's an idea that I think would take off like a cruise missile! If/when new SS bars becomes available, it'd be really nice if some kind of shipping arrangement was available for USA+Canada SS members that didn't cost an arm+leg, too...
FF. If it comes to fruition maybe would could combine shipping on some things. Not sure if it would save much in the end though. Guess it would be worth a try. Never hurts to ask.
This makes sense, and when I first started reading this thread I thought that they would most certainly be doing this anyway. The Scottsdale stackers have a high demand. I hope that this is true and that they will continue to produce them. Because I want to stack some of these in the future, I haven't got any yet.
I finally got one of these beauties a little while ago thanks to a SS member To my surprise it is not hallmarked on the back like other Academy stackers I have seen. It should have Made by Academy on the back but it is blank Just another variation to add to the list. Source: Source:
The Scottsdale stackers were recently refreshed - the back now has a die struck mint mark in addition to the (real) swirls and serial number, and the front of the bar is being struck with a slightly revised die that leaves a better impression when stamped. So there's now two versions with serial numbers.
The Stackers being produced by Scottsdale now are simply breathtaking. Looking at them closely you can tell they have anti-counterfeiting features. Best bars on the market IMO.
Actually there are 3 versions, I have seen some of the new bars with just serial numbers and nothing else.
Scottsdale New Version Blanky Bar. I don't know how many there are. I still like to know. This could be the only one , due to miss-stamp. http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-533839.html#p533839
Saw one of the blank bars on eBay recently. Didn't bother bidding for it. However, I've only came across 1 of the Southwest Bullion Stacker Bar. Anybody else managed to snag one?
pic can be found at this thread: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-45804-stacker-bar-types.html And yes, there is a dino in my avatar.
Well I'm not sure but I think the Southwest Bullion 10oz stacker bar is probably the rarest of them all?
It would be pretty hard to get mintages of the American bars but we do know there is 1200 Silver Stacker bars and I think I seen a number like 2000 for the Southern cross bars on the forum somewhere. I have also seen a number like 200-500 for the South West Bullion bars thrown around as well, I think it was a CK post a few years ago, don't quote me though I do know they are very rare and I have only ever seen 1 and that is now in my possession See this bar and more here http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-45804-stacker-bar-types.html Any more info on the SWB bars would be awesome
