We are still here. There is a bunch of reasons why we cancelled the sub forum, as a business it always comes back to viability. We had a notice up for about two weeks.
Great to know you guys are still around. Sorry about my wording. I meant I already misses your posts.
1st of July is renewals date for sponsors - there's always some churn as sponsors drop off and new ones arrive. Forum doesn't survive without them, so thank you for your support over the last 12 months.
If people come on forum and put sales post up more than twice a week, they should be charged and pay fee as we the sponsers do. Happening more and more lately.
As much as we would like to keep the subforum going we also want to get our website up, currently we cannot manage both at once, financially. We will look at a sub forum again in the future. Sub forum cost + website cost is a lot of bullion to be sold just to break even, then add all the other cost associated with running a business.
Long time members should at the least pay their respect by donating the incredibly cheap lifetime membership fee of $35.00 or one ounce of silver. :/
Perhaps one should be required to be a lifetime member to have the ability to post a sales thread on the forum (but not to buy)?
I think if selling frequently incurs a fee, that is fair enough, for sure. Anywhere else you want to put a sale will make a charge for doing that. Perhaps it might be the case that anyone is able to post sporadic sale threads, up to a maximum of 1 sale per week. Paid-up members may be allowed 2 sales per week, if more are needed, then either a fee per sale, or higher level of support for the forums would be needed. Mind, in before anyone jumps on the above numbers - they're examples only, not neccessarily set in stone (though personally, I'd feel they're reasonable numbers).
Would be a start. Would stop blow ins coming in selling $10k worth of metal and then never see them again. Would deter dealers not disclosing who they are coming in to sell metal, then dont see or hear from them until they have something else to flog. At one stage we identified 4 dealers on the first page of the trading thread. As mentioned we have a bunch of reasons, viability the main one. Lucky we have good business mentors . Sub forum, No sub forum, we are still here, buyers club will run as normal, and when we post a thread in the trading forum we wont hide that we ARE bullion dealers. This forum takes a lot of work and money to run, GP's job is thankless in most parts, he has done a great job getting silverstackers where it is, the least people can do is become a member and to go a step further support the site sponsors.
Also see it more and more lately, free plugs for bullion dealers by newly registered newbies with no feedback or trade record. Paying sponsers service this site, blow ins don't. All our paying sponsers do everything in their power to look after our members, they help make this place one of the most popular and trusted forums known. Still happening today. Sad to see when we lose sponsers.
Site sponsors in the forum get all the support they deserve 100%. Good on you Maggie. We Perth Members have stands behind and by Site Sponsors. A deal have been struck. Thanks to the site Sponsors, Perth Meeting going to be a success one. A miles stone for Perth Members.
Dont have to be site sponsor. I am just a co ordinator or so call Organiser. What are you then hotel46? a commentator full off. ###@@@&*%
Chip - " We have Pegged The Miles Stone. " Is pegging the Miles Stone the WA version of kissing the Blarney Stone?
Why? Many of us generate direct and indirect sales for the site sponsors, Silver Stackers forum and of course Gold Stackers. Infact...GS should be giving some of us a spotters fee! Cheers H
