I would reckon you've got a decent stack when your purchases start to be dictated by your available space. A 10oz PM bar takes up a lot less space than 10 kooks.
Mixing 1kg ABC bars with 1kg PM bars just doesn't work, and what the hell do you do with the pre decimal????

That's like asking how much dollars we have on average.
It should be in terms of someones worth, not in ounces, for ex 10% of worth in silver. Or 20%. Or 50%. Or 100%, for those that wanna specialize / opt for 1 risk instead of 5 risks that together equal the 1 risk, based on those around that think that they diversify, but at closer look aren't really, like gold and silver, or bonds/stocks/other paper. Because that is what the central planning does, they take the same paper with different names on it. Look, this is a Stock! And this is a Bond! And this is Dollar! And this in Euro!. Diversify! :)

It's like a 'look how rich I am'.
In some cases I can understand though, imagine you worked well, earnt alot, didnt spend/waste it all on whatever value that 'goes', so saved alot, well, that's all reason to be Proud with a capital P, haha. If it's a good idea to exhibit that Proudness, is another question.

I'm aiming for a billion ounces but I think I need a silver price of two millennia ago to succeed in that till I retire haha.

So many dumb arses on this forum.

117 ounces is a stack! Add one extra ounce and your stack falls down. Coin capsules limit your stack to 63.

Scientifically proven by a guy in a white coat.

If that's true Sammy, then maybe stacking 1,000 oz bars is the solution for all of us? They don't topple over even 250 high when you know how to stack them the right way. :)

1000 ounces is a nice guide, but you could also choose a figure that equates to your personal quarter, half or full yearly income.

That way you have a sense of preparation should you be unable to work for a period and need to meet mortgage repayments and other necessities. Having a year's income in reserve is often advised for stability and it is in the back of your mind that it is there for you. It is a nice box to tick off - and if prices ever go up then you'll have more than a year!

Don't know what my lot weighs, but I'm pretty sure I'd need to lose weight to 'meet the stack'. :/

I know my stack weighs a lot less than me, and I'm about 155 lbs. But I don't mind....just 9 months ago my stack didn't even exist in earnest.

You show me yours and I'll show you mine... so we can sit there, admire and compare sizes... it's a little bit of a no-no. Just be blessed with what you have (can afford) and feel comfortable and at ease at your own size. By all means, feel humble but keep in mind that there will always be someone around the corner with a bigger one than yours. We accept you for who you are... A fellow stacker! Welcome!
Kind regards, your Jamakian friend! :p

Its not the size of the stack that counts its how you use it.

I reckon a stack of your own weight would be a cool target.realistic and achievable

Depend on what you are stacking copper, silver or gold.
Things like these cannot be compare.
    Everyone have their own stacks.
How can compare your stacks to my unknown stacks? :p
If you have a fist full of silver by weight then I show you my little gold blob would
    that be fair.
So I reckon there are no average stacks.
    You keep your stacks.
I wouldnt tell you what Im stacking.
A real stacker wont reveal their stacks.
Just keep guessing if you like.
Im sure many stackers would agree with my comment.
