Very strong points on why cryptos aren't a good store of value:

well they are having a bit of resurgence, hopefully people are recouping,

but elon still making a mockery of it and seems another tweet gets every one buying again.
one thing he has proved is cryptos are a complete joke as a real world currency. one guy can control the market.

I don't think he can control the market. After awhile people are just going to go "meh" and ignore him.

It's even arguable whether he caused this plunge or not, but for argument's sake we'll give it to him. Let's see if he can repeat the performance before ascribing ultimate power to him.

People will just monitor his page religiously now using his tweets as guide for when to buy and when to sell, he could do it over and over again. 55M people a tweet he reaches, and god knows how many wallstreeters with bags of money.
He has proved more than once already he can manipulate this market. Like it or not the crypto market is a musk show now.

He put Bitcoin on the Tesla balance sheet and the price went up.
Then he, supposedly singlehandedly, caused the market to plunge, which by the way it recovered from almost straight away, so no big deal as long as you aren't leveraged.

He manipulates DogeCoin but that was a market with a tiny market cap populated by idiots. Who really cares in the long run, we all know where it will end.

I'm not seeing the hand of God here.

have a look at when it recovered and look at when he tweeted.
Maybe your right maybe your wrong, but if your in the market I think you shouldnt instantly dismiss the possibility, sheep follow who ever they think is strong.

It was way over-leveraged already and needed a big clean-out. Who knows what the actual trigger was or if there were multiple.

If your thesis is correct, I want to see evidence for more than one event. An event which isn't that unusual in a Bitcoin bull market anyway, and Musk hasn't been present at all for all the other times it's happened.

These are the simple, unsophisticated explanations I see all the time in the mainstream press. Drives me crazy.

Mcafee going to jail for fraud and tax avasion helped with that, also being suspected of murder and rape didnt help his cred either.
Even still he never had the same popularity of the mainstream as musk does

Everyone was ignoring Mcafee back in 17/18, he was only arrested in 2020 so no jail did not help with that.

We are a step closer to mainstream adoption than we were back in 2017.

So why should we be surprised that out manipulator celebrity on this run is a step up on last time too?

Last time we had Paris Hilton and Kanye West shilling for us....this time we got Tom Brady! :p

I never understood why any one followed him at any point, it was pretty well known for along time he was a crook, well before him being in cryptos.
just like musk he made cryptos look bad.

I guess if no one followed him, Shinneys comparison to Elon isnt valid, because there is no denying people do follow Elon, 55m of them and you can read down his twitter posts to see how much of his fans posts are about cryptos, and how much of his fans postings are about tesla and spaceX, most of the comments the last few months from his followers are about Cryptocurrency, even under his posts not related to cryptos the comments disproportionately are about crypto trading.
You can deny it all you want, doesnt change the fact he has huge crypto influence with the mainstream, and the more mainstream crypto is getting the more pull guys like him have on the market and less influence the traditional coiner has.

the mainstream influence and sheepishness is turning it into the exact opposite of what you guys think its going tobe.

    over the last few months
type Elon musk into google, what do you see? Elon in crypto Currency news articles
type Crypto currency into google and what do you see? Elon in Crypto Currency news articles
    thats what mainstream looks like

People followed McAfee. The guy built a fortune writing anti-virus software back in the 90s or something so he was once respected as a knowledgeable software / tech guy.

But then he started shilling shitcoins and moving the markets and his influence started to wane as the markets wised up to his shenanigans. Nobody today will admit to ever following him, but it happened. The comparisons to the way Musk is influencing the crypto markets today is valid. Musk is just better at it and is a bit more mainstream....but lets see if the market wises up like it did with McAfee. Musks recent form is really demonstrating he's a bit of a clown and doesn't really understand crypto that well, so my own respect for him has certainly dropped.
