It seems like Doge is one of those new coins that have some potential. The only drags about it are the huge numbers to be released and the rare real use. Dogecoin just surpassed the 40 billion figure and market cap of 60 million $!
Ripple also has a huge number of err tokens available as well, but they were all pre mined and are centrally controlled. The Doge is open all the way.
What amazes me is the fact that Dogecoin has surpassed other cryptocurrencies in so many ways (but not in terms of price per unit): http://www.primevalues.org/market-watch/dogecoins-dramatic-rise.htm Transactions in 24 hours much higher than in Bitcoin's case. What's a bit weird is that (right now) there are only 445 addresses with at least 10,000 Dogecoins. (according to: http://bitinfocharts.com) If Bitcoin goes much higher, this coin could even reach 1 $. But then the entire market of Dogecoin will be worth as many billions as coins out there. A bit hard to imagine... But the creator wants it to become the primary online currency. I think that's doable. And if that happens, then Doge can indeed have a market cap of several billions. E-business does have the capacity to accommodate a 100 billion $ market cap currency. The other scenario is: Bitcoin and Litecoin will take a serious dip and then many will rush to buy Doge. This too will induce a price increase for the latter.
, That's Addresses with greater than US $10,000 value. Addresses with more 10,000 Doge is : 10,000 - 100,000 66459 11.17% (17.3%) http://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-dogecoin-addresses.html. I really think doge has leg's. It's the most well known amongst "normal" people, most wide spread, fastest growing and has a huge community behind it compared to any other Crypto . A $60 billion market cap in a couple of months is nothing to be sneezed at.
Thanks for the correction. Now I understand it's about USD, not DOGE. They should have mentioned that on the site. Nothing being there, I reckoned it was DOGE. Now, as I see the numbers I'm shocked to see how many people bought in. It's indeed growing. But the price is still low and during the past week it went down from 0.0016 $ to 0.0013 $. If it grows like Litecoin did from January 2013 to November 2013, then Dogecoin could get close to 1 $, could even surpass it... potentially. But that would be a tremendous rise. I think it could only achieve that rise if the media gave it more exposure. We'll have to see whether it can manage to hit 0.01 $. At least... :/
there is no way it will get to $1 to get there would mean it would have a market cap FOUR TIMES bigger than bitcoin and I dont think that is going to happen so like sammy thinking silver is going to go to $36 by easter Doge coin to $1 is also a fantasy
I also don't believe strongly that it would go to 1 $. I'd give that a very little chance, though. Can't exclude the possibility. But how high is your target fore Doge? I just dropped to 0.0012 $ 10x this market cap would bring it to 0.012 $ (a bit less than Litecoin's market cap today), but 100x growth would propel it to 0.12 $ (roughly about half Bitcoin's market cap). (All of these calculations were made according to the current number of 42 billion Dogecoins - of course, the figures will grow) I say 10x growth to 0.012 $ is doable. And 100x growth to 0.12 $ is also possible. I'd like to know what are your targets.
No-one knows for sure what'll happen. But if Bitcoin hit 1,000 $ last November and Litecoin hit 48 $, then I can imagine at least 0.12 $ Dogecoin easily. The fact that there are so many coins strongly limits Doge's potential. I don't know why Palmer had to create 100 billion in the first phase. 100 million would have been enough. It would have ensured a higher price. Still, all market caps can grow. Doge could potentially become the 3rd cryptocurrency, but Peercoin still has to be surpassed.
Gosh, it already costs over 1 million $ per coin! This cryptocurrency mania is crazy! Do you have any fractions? How do you mine it?
I have approx 7.5Mh/s in hashing power making me about 55k of doge coins a day I regret now gambaling about 600k of doge coins away on doge dice ( early on when they were not worth much ) I am in the process of purchasing another set of miners that will add about 20MH/s more hashing power to my current lot. Silver is so 2011 <> doge coins ( or other various coins ) are the future.
