Since 2010 the australian mint is not making any 2 oz coin anymore until today, that 's very pity is my opinion because they are much nices then the 1 oz coins; does anybody know why they don't make them anymore?
The Perth Mint did plan to release the 2oz Kookaburra as part of the 2013 bullion program but they believe the 2oz coins are not popular so it wasn't included. The 2009 P20 - 2oz coin was the last Kook minted. (20,991) http://www.perthmint.com.au//docume...r_Bullion_Coin_Series_1990_-_2011_Current.pdf I find that weird because if a person looks at the Bullion mintage details you'll find that sales are reasonable. The 2014 - 2oz Kookaburra has also been approved by Treasury. For Perth to mint the 2oz, they'll need more demand both here in Australia and Overseas. imo, the 2oz kook is the perfect size coin. 2013 Details 2013 Silver Kookaburra Bullion Coins The design for the 2013 Silver Kookaburra (1kg, 10oz, 2oz and 1oz) bullion coins features a representation of two kookaburras perched on a tree branch, superimposed on flowers, and includes the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA', '2013' along with the weight of the coin and '999 SILVER'. http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2011L00874/Explanatory Statement/Text 2014 Details 2014 Silver Kookaburra Bullion Coins The design for the 2014 Silver Kookaburra (1kg, 10oz, 2oz and 1oz) bullion coins features a kookaburra perched on a tree branch, and includes the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA', '2014' along with the weight of the coin and '999 SILVER'. http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2011L00874/Explanatory Statement/Text I'd love to see Perth mint 2oz Kookaburras H

There's nothing to indicate Perth are interested in the 2oz coins. I'd go along with that, I love the chunky 2oz coins, all of them lunars as well as kooks. Very low mintages as well compared to the 1 ozers.
