1kg Kooks can only be minted up to the end of that year. After that no more may be minted. They are different to the 1kg Lunars. malachii
SilverBigWave Log into your Ebay account. Next to the blue search button, you'll see an Advanced Tab, click it. Once the new page is loaded, type into the box that says Enter keywords or item number Type: 2008 Kookaburra Coin Scroll down a little further and tick the "Completed listings" box Click the search button. You'll then see items that have sold (Green) and didn't sell (Red) This will give you an idea of a fair price per coin. And since you have an unbroken roll, add on about 10% once you have worked out the average cost per coin over the last couple of months. Be aware that there is no need to give a discount on rolls because if your roll is unbroken it will be sort after. Many people check through mint rolls to pick out the best coins for grading and then sell the lesser quality coins. Best of luck H
willrocks The 2009 Kook hit the sweet spot with collectors, it's a great looking coin also, 2009 was the end of 20 years of Perth Mint kookaburra coins. The 2009 Kookaburra coins have a distinctive mint mark which is P20, which represents 20 years of minting the Kooks. You'll also find the P20 on the Boxed Kookaburra sets that contain each coin from 1990 -2009. As a side note. Keep your eyes open for broken down sets of the 1oz Silver Kookaburras, because the Perth Mint sets are date stamped 2009. For example you could find a 2008 Kookaburra that is date stamped 2009 P20. 1990 reverse with 2009 and mint marked P20 1991 reverse with 2009 and mint marked P20 1992 reverse with 2009 and mint marked P20 2008 reverse with 2009 and mint marked P20 2009 reverse with 2009 and mint marked P20 Etc, etc, etc, These individual coins can sell at a high premium. H
So what are these actually selling for? what would you pay? Disclaimer : this is not a sales thread (but we could go there )
Mine are all this design: Source: www.silvercoinstoday.com I've also got 1kg coins with the same design.
Would the 2oz 2009 kooks fetch a higher premium as well? What would be a reasonable price? My favourite year.
The 2009 - Kookaburra Silver 2 oz coin, mint marked P20 has been fetching quite good prices and being the last 2oz Kookaburra to be minted by Perth it could gain further collector support. Mintage (Unlimited) 20,991 coins. H
yes, so long that the premium are not way too high, I am willing to take the roll and offload them in our small market. just pm me when you have 2 or 3 rolls to let go in the next 2 - 3 months
people are less willing to turn into lunartic but they are willing to turn into kookaatic in a hearth beat

metalzzz Perth Blog says: Between 1899 and 1931, more than 106 million sovereigns and 735,000 half sovereigns were made in Perth, differing from coins struck at other Empire mints only by the appearance of the letter 'P'. This custom was revived in 1986 when the initial proof Australian Nugget became the first Australian coin to bear our traditional mintmark. From that time onward, the 'P' was used on other collectable issues, with a modified 'P100' appearing on some coins issued in 1999 the Mint's centenary. http://blog.perthmint.com.au/2012/08/13/brief-history-of-the-p-mintmark/ Cheers H
