Been buying odds & sods but my first PM 5 oz Lunar has just arrived - that was a serious mistake!!! If I wasn't an addict before with the 1 oz, I'm doomed now ......
Saying the same thing twice is a grammatical mistake and also tautological... I procured some silver from Goldstackers last week when I bought it. It was shiny and reflected a lot of light. I love the solid, unhollow feel of the metal in my hands.
Soon you will pass the point of no return. You have a choice to make... one choice leads to despair and hopelessness, the other to total doom. Choose wisely. Stick with Lunars and you may survive. But beware of dipping your feet into the Kookaburra stream or you risk being sucked into an abyss that is worse than collecting Pokemon.
I have now seen what others have meant referring to the qualities of the Lunars - the "ordinary" coins appear to be the equivalent of other's proofs. And the designs are very appealing. Then add the size factor of the 5 oz's - I did wonder if the detail would be less (like simply blowing up an image), but to my eye are just as good (based on a sample size of one, to be sure). I do believe that lunaring will be a first priority in my further gathering. But to my shame, I must also confess to having the occasional Kookaburra - perhaps if I could just do that until I need glasses but stop before I go blind .....
Here in the UK investing in silver has lost its shine as there is a 20% VAT on it nevertheless I will start to invest in more silver but am looking for ways around getting silver without the 20% VAT charge. Do you guys have to pay VAT?
no gst, when you can avoid buying into it. they are alternative means in getting silver without the gst. but I also get to love gold now, since I have enough silver that I can carry with both my hands. "999"
You said that there are alternatives to buying silver without the gst. How? I would be ever so grateful for the info.
Are we paying GST on bars and coins? I didn't think so...I don't think that's right, at spot plus 10% gst (~$685) lots of places would be selling name brand bars under spot which seems unlikely.
I just discovered that GST in Australia is supposed to be paid of proof bullion coins. didn't realize that before.
mate get a nine pound flight to the contingent and then stuff a few ounces in your jocks. If you get pulled up by customs, (highly doubtful) just tell them that you were in some shady parts of europe and this was your emergency funds that you forgot about when you entered the country.
ahh typical arrogant ignorant American. invoices, declared values, insurance costs, almost anything comming into the UK is covered by their limits. The goods inside the package are mostly irrelevant. It gets charged on anything imported . Just like here we have a $1000 limit on goods we can import before GST and duties apply. The UK only get 15 where VAT is not charged on imported goods.
Silver is cheap????? The price of silver went up by 300% over the last 13 years! 300%!!!!! That's while the price of most goods went up on average by about 30%, or 50%. If silver was US$5/oz, it would be cheap. At US$17/oz it's incredibly expensive! Sorry
yes, that is one relative. but after getting out of uranium miners giving some 5,000%. sure silver was the next cheap thing after 2006 now that oil is back down again, and for same as silver from 48 to 17. it is cheap, but there are cheaper things we could never get, like the free money being hand out by the fed. it is the fiat money that are buying for lesser and lesser. when most people has the vision to see the never ending head down of silver price. it is sure to be in the crowd to be accepted for a lower price. (when it can be cheaper in price but not in metal - it is just too late to join the fun)
last time a member mentioned about buying the old coins which does not have gst. its silver none the less, just cheaper.
