I am so pleased that many of the SS community like the sheeple of the property bubble in 2007 and the sheeple of the dot-com bubble in 2000 cannot see what is happening :D
Those that will make a quick buck and get out before the smash are few and far between and most will be going down with the ship. I will continue observing this lemming mentality and hopefully some will take the warning seriously and bail while they are ahead. I know almost all will laugh at this old stacker, what does he know of this new economy, this new technology, this new get rich scheme. Answer - nothing. This is not a new economy and you aint getting rich. Most will be getting a lot poorer when this is all done and dusted.

It's interesting to read how certain some can be in what they think is true.
The future will reveal whether they had wisdom or a complete lack of vision.

    Absolutely!

We're all talking about BTC and LTC this week. And I don't think many of us have seen it coming.

BTC and LTC too are some sort of FIAT without any intrinsic value or backing, but they're ingenious hypermodern creations.

Now what? Will BTC and LTC bubble burst?

For those who didn't invest in cryptocurrencies, is this the time to get in or just watch and feel sorry for a lost opportunity? :/

Wishful thinking with a good point there.

People can understand the PM's easier.

Yet, we still don't know how high BTC and LTC can go.

Interesting that my 16 year old son just asked if I had been following Bitcoin recently and then mentioned how much they were currently worth.
He also mentioned that a couple of his mates bought some a while ago. Wanted to know if I thought the price would continue going up.

I said to him two things.

The law of gravity shows that what goes up must come down and secondly: It's the early bird that catches the worm.

I think he got my drift.

Yep! It might continue going up for a while longer considering the Chinese love to gamble and it appears they have taken it by storm since opening beginning of November. How long will the euphoria last is anyone's guess.

    Good luck to the holders.

Make haste while the sun shines. :)

    I don't think You have,
Sure your gonna pay $600 plus for a BTC but send it to btc e (a lot easier than you think) then make it into LTC, it has done alot and arguably will do more.. Ive bought more in the middle of the madness If not anything else it's just awesome fun...

You don't think I have what?

    I don't have BTC, not LTC, I don't think I said I have...

Now the whole thing seems to be dipping, at least on the BTC-e graph. Even at MtGox, the BTC graph is bending downwards. :/

What's weird is that MtGox.com is selling BTC-e for 740 $, while BTC-e is selling for 620 $! Why that big price difference?

There's one BTC, but more prices! And the difference is huge!

yes, different exchanges tend to have different prices especially when there is insane volatility like that.
I usually pick one and stick to it.
Maybe some smart guys are making the most of the arbitrage.

The serious potential Ponzis lie around the outskirts - there is a large pool of people with the usual fear/greed mix looking to buy in to Bitcoin mining. Shares in 40G/400G ASIC miners which haven't arrived yet hosted in secret locations are fertile ground for Ponzi scams. It looks as though there will be a series of massive waves crashing on Bitcoin mining as Petahash become available through 28um ASICs.

So far no-one seems to have a Scrypt (Litecoin et al) ASIC, but there are some smart people out there with incentive. I would expect Litecoin difficulty to ramp up as more domestic users build rigs. In the meantime I have some room heaters churning away, and I came to the party very late.

I wonder if the Oslo flat buyer regrets his timing? At least he hung on to half his stash.

Finally, I would guess that many Chinese may buy and hold, and that India and Argentina will just keep ramping up for a while, so no immediate scent of tulips...

I don't think people are jealous (well some probably are, but oh well).

I think people are just pissed off that their 'rock solid' tangible asset, silver, is dropping value day in, day out, whilst Bitcoin is closing in on parity with gold.

Sure, the majority are stackers.... they can buy and hold for their entire lifetime, having gained pretty much nothing except a paperweight, but telling themselves it was a solid investment.

Sorry to sound so cynical in the previous post, but the people who are so anti-bitcoin, and have voiced their views over and over on it, are generally the prehistoric types who are totally change adverse and would prefer if we were still using a horse and cart to get around.
