    Yay.

I started collecting them only about a month ago, got 5 in 2 days, then a week later 1 and now I haven't seen any since. Probably coz sammysilver has taken most of them out of circulation. ;)

I'm up to 81 x poppies and 6 x coronation. The girls from the coffee shop put them away for me. Getting harder and harder to find.

I believe the circulated poppies are selling for up to $5.50 and the coronation above $10.

The RAM sells the carded, encapsulated, mint marked ones for $12.95.

Are the poppys really worth that much? I haven't been collecting them I may have to start. I thought uncirculated coronation coins were worth $10 and that these circulated ones were worth less?

I believe circulated coronation coins are going on eBay for over $10.

Hard to believe circulated poppys are worth that much already! I would of thought more like $3. Sammy I started taking them out of circulation a little while ago at your suggestion, I must have about 25 now!

I don't believe it either. Who would have thunk that $2 coins less than 1 year old are returning $5 and $10. To da asteroid.

I'm quite annoyed as I've only found 2 poppy coins and no coronation ones.

However I can happily live without them and would never pay the sort of prices Sammy mentioned above.

IMO it's a case of hoarding, pretty much standard procedure when a new and different coin comes out, in a matter of time, people will start treating these coins as normal coins.

I work part time at my brothers cafe so I see a few more than the average joe. I do wish I started on the poppy coins earlier though as we had a heap of them come through early on. Oh well, next time...

It's like the captain cook 50 cents or even the round fifties. Hoarded but not worth more than intrinsic value.

the one thing i can say is that they are the only 2 $2 coins with a picture that isnt the elder which imo makes them worth more than just $2.

Ive stacked 4 poppys so far since I hunted through $2s looking for them yesterday. But im starting to doubt they have any value. They seem way to common also a quick search on ebay shows alot of them at $2.50 starting bids.

What are the sale prices on eBay?

I've always maintained that if you feel you need a cash reserve for whenever the SHTF, then why not stack poppies and coronation coins. If you make a profit, good, if not, you have some cash reserves.
