Yeah, now with Gatito in the game, competition has moved up a level! Word on the street is he has a very good eye for determining near perfect condition medals and coins. .
Wasn't that the one with a bunch of older stuff? That can get real tricky. I happily pay up for already-slabbed, in those situations.. But, I suppose somebody has to step up & roll the dice on those. Many thanks to a lending hand, of course.. Couldn't have done it without them! This is actually my 2nd go at the rodeo.. http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-74069-i-ve-got-a-couple-big-brass-ones.html http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-74068-large-copper-grades-a-perfect-70.html Since these are always my only ones, it's not like I'm cherry-picking from a bunch of raw & sending off just the best ones. It's whatever I get, I get.. Bit unnerving at times, but has to be done. I actually share with another my opinion of what I think they'll grade as, once they're shipped off. And I go conservative, as not to set myself up for disappointment.. Went with an outside shot of a 70 with the 90mm brass Bird Lizard -- otherwise, 69. Ag Bird Lizard -- 69. Monkey Buddha & Jiuhua -- both 68/69. Queen's Beasts -- 68 Obviously they all surpassed my low-ball expectations. Besides, you never know if the grader is going to have a bad day that day.. Or that they haven't gotten laid in a while -- or that they got laid the night before. Anyway, fun game. Expensive game. But oftentimes needs to be done. And depending on the grades, can make $$ or lose $$ -- or simply break even.
older britannias ms66! and 90's silver pandas all ms68. 69-70 you are damn good... I have another batch in there now with some more silver brits 00,03,10,12. and a 1/4 QB along with some baby pandas. We'll see how they do. For now, Congrats! Well deserved dude!
Good luck on the 1/4 QB! Definitely one that I should have taken a gamble on (budget & potential issues, be damned)..
