Was in the Perth Mint this morning (just browsing, you understand). The queue was long and stationary. The three windows were occupied with people who seemed to either be glued to their seats or selling jewelry (or both). The sales people in the room outside the bullion trading room were getting desperate. They started checking the line to ensure people had their Identification, answering questions and asking what people were there for."Buying under $2K? come over here, I can help you". A very nice lady asked me if was buying $5K or less and I of course said yes and away form the immobile queue we went. During the polite small talk that went with the transaction came a revelation. The stock of 1 oz minted gold bars in the bullion buying safe was it. No more are being produced. I noticed last night the bar was gone from the website (I'd ordered one in the pm of the 10th) and assumed out of stock. Production is being "re-directed". So stackers of gold, if you want the 1 oz minted, securicarded Perth Mint gold bar with little kangaroos on the back, better move quickly. Oh, and you'll have to do it in person, the website doesn't have them listed anymore. Of course, this could be old news to you guys but my searches didn't reveal any info on this anywhere in the forum. A special note for any Perth Mint members/lurkers: BTW, the sales people outside the bullion trading room dealth with more customers in 15 minutes than the guys in the room had in the nearly 50 minutes I was waiting in the queue.
Hmmm what about we stand outside the Mint and shake down everyone who comes out? Then we can compare the numbers on the stuff we find with the ones on bars owned by Stackers (thereby identifying the stackers who hold the little devils). From then on, who really cares? we'll have lots
So what gives? Not listed on the website and a Mint person saying the 1 oz minted gold bars aren't being produced anymore! Aurora, where did your info come from????
Gold dragon production anyone? These bars are too popular to be discontinued. My bet is simply temporary re-purposing of the mint press for new Lunar/Kangaroo production for the 2012 releases. Of course there's people on the forum from the mint who could definitively tell us, but let's just speculate instead that... PERTH MINT IS OUT OF GOLD!!!!
That's because I've parked it all in my Antanov when they were moving in the new machinery. Now I just got to find somewhere to park my Antanov
Actually that makes sense. Release date is 01 Sep. That's only 14 working days. They'll do their mintage then re-jig. Of course its much more fun to start the out of gold rumours!!
Park it at my place! Plenty of room (once its cut up and unloaded       )
My mad Russian cousins lost the plane in the jungle & they've run out of Vodka NO VODKA NO WORK So now I have to track through the jungle & find them (plenty of fuel just no Vodka ) And fill the pilots up on Vodka again & we'll be right there We don't need the co-ordinates ,just clear a patch for a runway & leave the light on And have some Vodka ready to
For old friends with Antonov full of gold, I have much vodka. And not that cheap stuff either. Good vodka, old vodka. Knock your bloody socks off vodka! Drink all you want. The more you drink the less trouble I have in unloading gold!
Discrete. Quiet. Small(ish). Unlikely to have caused any fuss or to have excited much attention. Compared to that new press and the mess it made of the roof, who'd notice a huge, multi-engined jet aircraft being loaded with the gold store?????
We've only got an hour or so, till the Perth Mint chaps on here get home, sign on, read my claim nd begin to refute/explain it. We can have lots of fun spreading rumours in that time!!!
