    Hi Everyone

Just wondering if anyone has experience in storing gold coins in some sort of metal pipe ?

Was thinking of storing my "nuggets" (in the capsules) inside copper pipes, any suggestions or experience with this ?

    Thank you

    Z

    :)

I think it may be buried or semi-plumbed into the system for an illusion ?

Yes, its to store them in their capsules and then within a pipe to then be "Hidden" from view.

    I'm just north of Tokyo

    Cheers

Use PVC pipe to store your stash. Put some lead inside your copper pipe. Then you have something you can whack an intruder with.

PVC and silver is a BAD combination, gold maybe fine though. Never store silver in PVC

Apparently PVC can give off Chlorine gas which has the ability to turn silver greenish. My friend has an album made with PVC plastic and it has made a mess out of his pre decimal collection

Because pvc can cause an acidic reaction with silver.

If one was to bury his stack in the backyard, what would be the best method?

Did a bit of research and apparently it is the plasticisers (to make the plastic malleable) in some PVCs that are the issue... so maybe some PVC pipes are OK, but IMHO I would not be storing my 1oz lunars in there

What is funny is that metal investors (count me in) spend all this time thinking about how to store "safely", and yet when recovering gold & silver from sunken shipwrecks, you only ever hear talk about how much its worth. Never "it was not stored properly, etc, and we'll lose a few bucks..."

Thanks for all the replys guys,

The reason I was considering copper pipe was because I had read on this site that PVC and silver were a bad combination.

Thought I would give PVC a miss with the gold too, however if its certain that PVC and gold are ok together ?

Anyone tried storing gold in PVC ?

    Thanks

    Z
