Hi there all you stacking folks.

Don't know if it's just me, but recently I've found browsing Silver Stackers on my iPhone pretty much undoable. Pages take several minutes to load, or time out altogether.
My nightly ritual of lurking on the forum and catching up on the daily juice has been pretty much stopped. I might have to start reading books again...!

It's not the phone or the provider, as everything else is as normal, just this forum has changed, and only in the last week or so.

Again, it might just be me - has anyone else found this?

Yes I'm on a computer (not literally) and it does take some time at the moment sometimes.

On my computer there's no probs. Fast as. Just the iPhone. (iPhone 4)
Just recently. Literally too slow to wait. Anything else on the web is fine. If no one else has a problem, it must just be my phone.

You must be with Optus

My phone is on Optus and most of the time, internet access is a joke.

Seriously though, if you can load the pages quickly on your computer and slowly on your iphone (at the same time), the problem can't be with the web server.

Vodafone! General coverage very patchy here in Sydney, but can usually get by ok. I rhink internet access on phones is pretty crap in general. I was just used to having a look at SS each night in bed on the phone, but can't do it anymore. Twitter, Facebook, google, etc no worries.

Ah well. Just have to go back to reading books. Probably best anyway!

Hmmm. So it took me three full minutes to get to this post from the home page. No probs with anything else on the web. Is it really just me? Strange stuff...guess I'll just have to only check in during the day from the 'puter.

Check for rabbits behind your computer desk. Problem rabbit around here is small, black and has one floppy ear.

Are you comparing the SS website to other websites or to other mobile apps ?
If you are using facebook, twitter etc. through apps, then the internet traffic for those would be very minimal.

Try browsing a full scale website that doesn't have a mobile version (eg: your local council website, www.ato.gov.au or go to auspost.com.au and click 'Visit Website' to go to the full website)

All it takes is one new mobile broadband subscriber in your vicinity downloading movies all night to choke your internet.

I am with Vodafone on their 1.5G network, it is third world at best. I don't usually have trouble browsing the forum with my iPhone though. I just bought a Samsung Android phone, I am yet to try browsing SS with it, I doubt that I will keep it though, the Android OS is such a dog.

OK, seems to be all better now. Probably just a vague fluctuation in the Vodafone service matrix. Although there was a small rodent with long ears hanging out behind my desk for a bit...
I do find any sort of web browsing on this phone pretty slow at the best of times, but it was strange that it picked on this forum to go total slow for a while.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Stack on! To da Moon! etc. :)
