Yes, you are quite right and normally I would avoid these childish confrontations and simply walk away.
However, when an opponent resorts to lies and slander that door slams shut and I am compelled to fight to the bitter end which, incidentally, happened some time ago so now I am being facetious. :|
I'm only Human and I can't help gloating just a little but yeah, time to leave this episode be.
